Solace in Sea Sky and Trees

Solace in Sea Sky and Trees

How to and why find solace in sea sky and trees? Oh my I can’t wait to share with you. But first, let me share the purpose of this post and place. Whether it’s your first or gazillionth visit here, I hope you feel a warm (and bright colored) welcome. Each week I share a colorful painting with you. My hope is that these color clad, affordable paintings will delight your eyes and – hopefully – lift your spirit or mood! If you’re new here and would like to receive your very own version of these weekly posts, subscribe here. Let’s look more closely at all of this week’s paintings, OK?

Get Ready

Are you ready for lots of color? Yay! I painted most of these paintings on location. Where? Around the corner at a park near downtown Raleigh. Or, just a few hours east of here along the coast of North Carolina. And, several of these paintings are creations from this fall’s road trip north to New England and Canada. Here’s the online gallery view:

Whew! There’s lots of color here. And, in the midst of all that is happening in the world, each of these paintings offers a moment of solace in the timeless window of nature.

Exciting News

I am excited to share that each of these paintings and many, many more will be on view, framed and for sale at this weekend’s Forest Park Art Walk in our downtown neighborhood.

Here are the details:

Forest Park Art Walk

Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th from 2:00-5:00PM. There are a dozen artists’ participating. And be sure to check out the Art Walk website for a super handy feature. Here’s the scoop: when you open the website, scroll to the map of the neighborhood and tap on it in your phone. When you do, your phone’s Map application will open up with all of the addresses of the participating artists in view. How cool is that? Yay for cool in the middle of all the madness, eh?

How Are You

If you can’t make it this weekend, I will miss seeing you. Please share what’s new in your world in the comments below. Take care!

Beautiful body of work, Julie! You are really nailing it with these atmospheric and lovely paintings. Chris is crazy about a ’55 Crown Vic, I’m delighted with the colors outside my graphics office windows, and life is good. Gratefully so. xx
