Self-employed? It’s 1099 time
Are you a self-employed business owner, artist, author, musician, coach and/or someone who works for themselves and has no employees? If so, you may have paid an independent contractor to help you get your business up and running or keep it looking good in 2013.
If you paid that independent contractor $600 or more, then you may have to file 1099 MISC. Here’s the link to the IRS with more details.
And, if you have decided that you need to bring in an expert to take care of all of your small business tax issues and problems, then consider contacting Candace Turney, CPA. She’s a partner and a pro at Rabon & Dailey, is located right here in the Triangle, and in my opinion has the sassiest haircut of any accountant I’ve ever met. Bottom line, she will take care of all of your small business tax needs with professionalism so that you can focus on your passion to do your art, writing, coaching, and more.
