Peak Color View
You may see why I call this week’s painting “Peak Color View?” But! I have lots more to share this week, gentle reader. In fact, you may see that this week’s painting title extends beyond my studio walls and out into nearby neighbor’s studios, too. But, before I elaborate, here’s information about this blog. This is a place where, each week, I share my paintings, process, occasional infuences from art history, studio sales and inspiration. Whether this is your first or millionth visit here, hiya, hello and a warm welcome! I choose a theme to guide my paintings each year. To read about this year’s painting theme, check the description in this link here. To subscribe and get a weekly dose of color for yourself, subscribe here. Ready for more about “Peak Color View?” OK! Let’s go!
Crisp and Colorful
This week’s painting includes images and reflections of crisp and colorful leaves and trees. Location? Behind the NC Museum of Art and it’s walkable and beautifully scenic NC Museum Park. Here’s a larger image of this painting; it’s 9×12 inches and painted on panel.
This painting is framed and ready to go to its forever home. But! I’m not listing it for sale here as I usually do. Why? Because I’m participating in a neighborhood studio sale this year. And, if you live near Raleigh, North Carolina, I would love for you to stop by! Here are the details:

November 2, 2023I love the silhouette-y image for the neighborhood sale! Very striking.
I’m hoping that it will be a grand success – whatever that means – and you have a great time and meet lots of interesting people.
Rather than a colorful fall it’s been an extended golden hour, especially in the morning and before sunset. There is just a gorgeous golden glow. Miss the red that is typically more pervasive but i do love the goldenglow!
