Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth is the name of this week’s painting and post. I’m pretty sure I don’t need to explain why I’ve chosen this name. But! Just in case you’re new to this virtual space, here’s a bit more information about this blog. This is a place where, each week, I share my paintings, process, occasional infuences from art history, and inspiration. Whether this is your first or millionth visit here, hiya, hello and a warm welcome! I choose a theme to guide my paintings each year. To read about this year’s painting theme, check the description in this link here. To subscribe and get a weekly dose of color for yourself, subscribe here. Ready? OK! Here goes!

Ready

Are you ready for the holidays? Ready or not, here they come. And, I decided to keep things simple this year. Meaning? Well, I decided to make this simple painting into a limited edition print and Christmas / Holiday Card. So, if you’re related to me, you have already seen this little blue bird. We have this sweet bird hanging on a branch of our artificial Christmas tree. I think it would make you smile if you got to see it in person. And I hope it makes you smile here too. Here it is!

The original is only 4×4 inches and painted in gouache on cold press paper. It’s not for sale. But I wish it could spread peace and joy all over the world right now. I’m keeping this week’s post short and sweet, gentle reader.

How Are You

How are you doing? What images do you like to think of that help you see peace this time of year? Shazam I would love it if you could share those ideas and images in the comments below. In the meantime, I am so grateful to each and everyone of you who are reading this blog and (virtually) walking with me on this creative path. I love painting and sharing what I paint with you here. I’m excited to share my new painting theme with you in a couple of weeks. And, I have an exciting newsletter announcement that I’ll share in the New Year too. For now, Peace on Earth, Take Care, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

This color is gorgeous! I’ve decided “royal blue” is a color I want to have in my life in more of a pronounced way. Then here’s this peace dove! Maybe if I opened my package from you I would see it in person? Oh hope so! Christmas morning looks even more exciting.

I appreciate your openness with your creative journey, Julie. I’ve learned a lot. Thought about a lot. Contemplated things I’d never considered before. Maybe the winning one for contemplation in 2023 is the idea of painting as your companion. Hmmm still thinking about that!

Anyway, thanks for this sharing and here’s to a wonderful 2024.
