Lingering Beach Memories

Lingering Beach Memories

It’s the time of year for Lingering Beach Memories. I have them; especially this time of year.  Before I share more, if you are new here,  check out this link for a full description of the focus of this painterly blog. Now, on to this week’s painting, yes?

Set Up

Here’s the set up for this week’s work. It’s on the third floor covered deck of our favorite little motel at our favorite beach, Topsail.

Believe it or not, just minutes before I took this photo, it was sunny. The (reddish) sky had clouds but nothing seemed threatening. However, the skies changed so quickly! I guess I’d be exaggerating if I said they changed between brush strokes. But that is what it felt like to me. I had to cover my palette and move the easel away from the edge of the porch. Whew!

Finished Painting

Here’s the finished painting. It’s 4×8 inches and painted in oils on a panel. I love the way the reddish skies contrast with the blue green seas. Ahhhhh! Lingering Beach Memories.

This sweet painting is unframed. It’s for sale for $97 + $7.03 Tax + $25 Shipping = $129.03. Here’s the PayPal Link to buy and make it your very own!

The colors are amazing in this! The red sky stands out, of course, but the range of all the other colors pops too. I could stare at this for some time I think and see colors I didn’t realize were there. Very cool!

It’s always a challenge to capture the colors of the sea. You’ve caught that wonderful play of greens in the waves. I can almost smell the sea air!
