Is what you see what you get?
Recently, I was talking with a friend who is a therapist. He described a rather embarrassing exchange with a new client. The first thing the new client said to him at their initial meeting in his office was, “Gee, you’ve aged since that photo on your website. Think you might want to update it?”
Fortunately, this friend has a good sense of humor and laughed off the comment. But it did make him think that he ought to freshen up his website and photos of himself on his site, too.
This conversation led me to think about resources that might be helpful to you if you live in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area and are in need of up-to-date, professional photos on your website and/or in your social media profiles.
I highly recommend that you consider a professional photographer even though you may think your next door neighbor, best friend or teenager has the skills to do the job. In fact, I recommend that you contact Gail Matsumoto with Gaillyn Photography. She’s professional, friendly, and will come to your office, studio, non-profit location if you live in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area. I have been very pleased with the results of her work and have referred her to other clients as well. Contact Gail at [email protected] and avoid that embarrassing moment when your client tells you, “Wow – you sure have aged since you put that photo on your website!”
What other local businesses have you worked with to keep your online presence fresh and up-to-date?

May 8, 2012What a great reminder. If anyone lives in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area I can recommend Maggie McKenney enthusiastically. She has that rare combination of professionalism with a sense of humor. She’s a natural light photographer but works with clients to do whatever they want. Check out her website: http://www.mckenneyphotography.com.
