Fanciful Fish Paintings
Why oh why Fanciful Fish Paintings this week? I look forward to sharing with you. I will share more about this week’s painting(s) name in a minute. This is a colorful painting place. Soo, each week I share a colorful painting (or two or three) for you to see and enjoy. My hope is that these colorful, affordable paintings will delight your eyes and – hopefully – lift your spirit or mood! If you’re new here and would like to receive these weekly posts, subscribe here. Here’s a bit more “why” before I share the “what” with you this week.
Why Art and Fish
Imagine my delight when I read an article that descibes what happens to people’s brains when viewing original art! Summary: good things. Here’s the article from MyModernMet. So, in the off chance that you are suffering from a bit of election year fatigue, consider visiting your local museum. And, if you can’t do that, consider visiting your pal or neighbor who happens to be an artist. I’m guessing that your brain gets a boost seeing original art anywhere. Right?
If you live in or near Raleigh, NC, plan on getting your artwork brain boost soon! When? Save Saturday and Sunday, November 16th and 17th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM to visit my home-based studio, along with a bunch of other nearby artists. I promise we look forward to helping you and your brain get that positive boost as you stroll through our nifty neighborhood and it’s second annual Forest Park Art Walk.
Sneak Peak
Here’s a sneak peak of some of the gouache paintings, I’ll have on view. Aren’t they fanciful and fun? Each one is matted in an 11×14 mat and protected with a Crystal sleeve. One has just SOLD – yay! The other two and lots of others of different topics, timely for this season, will be for sale for $45 + 7.25% sales tax.
A Reminder
And, just a reminder, that the gouache leaf paintings I shared last week, will also be on view and for sale for $45 + 7.25% Sales Tax. And, all the proceeds from the leaf paintings will go directly to support relief for Western North Carolinians impacted by Hurricane Helene.
How Are You
What’s happening in your world, gentle reader? Is there something fanciful that you can share that helps you feel some delight during these turbulent times? If so, please do share in the comments below. Thank you!

October 24, 2024Julie,
Love your fish. I live near the ocean and not near art museums so greatly appreciate your weekly emails/blog. The sea is in my soul so I take great solace from these stressful times by visiting it often. Thank you, Beautiful Lady!

October 24, 2024Great fish! They swim along – couldn’t resist – that fine line between resembling fish I see and fanciful!
Sure would be fun to wander around your part of the world and see great art. Sigh. Good luck with that!
