Julie Dyer Holmes is originally from Boston, MA. She worked in healthcare marketing and sales in NC and nationally for 20+ years.

In 2014, she moved to Philadelphia to pursue a dream to study painting. She studied classical painting techniques for five years at Studio Incamminati. This exemplary school is a figurative and portraiture art school founded by artist Nelson Shanks.

In 2019, she returned to Raleigh, NC. With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, her focus shifted to painting the natural world. She paints landscapes and still life as her primary subjects now. Julie creates work in gouache while painting outdoors or on the road. In the studio, she paints in oils. Her work in each medium, reflects her emotional connection to the subjects she paints.

Today, Julie Dyer Holmes continues to grow as an artist by drawing and painting daily. She exhibits and sells her work through her blog, exhibitions, regional galleries and shows. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
