Beach Day Color Sketch
Hooray for Beach Day Color Sketch! Right? It’s that time of year when, well, I elaborate more in a minute. But, first, if you are new here, check out this link for a full description of the focus of this painterly blog. Now, on to this week’s painting, yes?
Here’s the Sketch
Ahhh! This sweet painting is called a color sketch for several reasons. First, I painted it on canvas paper. Second, it’s not in a mat or framed.
Heads up – this painting is not matted. To purchase with an 11×14 inch white mat, it’s SOLD!
Have You Been
Have you been to the beach yet this year, gentle reader? Perhaps you have plans to go to the beach? Even if you’re not going to the beach, maybe gazing at this painting will help put you in that “beach” state of mind? Here’s hoping!
Whichever situation you’re in, please do share your favorite summer getaway place, real or imagined, in the comments below.

July 4, 2024Lovely painting, Julie! I especially like how the vivid violet peeks out from the gray/greenish clouds. I also enjoy looking at the vanishing point and the crest of the wave to the left.
The beach is indeed my favorite! No beach forays this year as yet – more mountainscapes and lakes so far. Happy Fourth of July! xoxo
