All Different All the Same
What or who is all different all the same? This isn’t a blog where I write riddles, gentle reader. But I will share more about this week’s painting(s) name in a minute. So, no riddles here! This is a colorful painting place. What does that mean? That means that each week I share a colorful painting (or two or three) for you to see and enjoy. My hope is that these colorful, affordable paintings will delight your eyes and – hopefully – lift your spirit or mood! If you’re new here and would like to receive these weekly posts, subscribe here. OK on to this week’s painting(s). There are three.
Discoveries on Morning Walks
Each morning I love walking with BDE (best dog ever ;-D) to start my day. This time of year, I love the cooler crisp air and the sights and smells of leaves on the ground. In fact, I pick up said leaves, bring them home and paint them.
The leaves I see and pick up are, somehow, all the same and yet each is so different and unique. This experience (noticing and picking up leaves) helps me see that, despite differences (sometimes huge), we humans are all different and the same. I thought about that as I painted each of these paintings over these past few weeks. Here they are. Each is painted in gouache on 6×6 inch panel. I’d love it if you could stop by and see these in person at my upcoming studio sale next month!
All Different All the Same Trio
Each of these paintings will be for sale at my studio sale for $45 + $3.26 NC Sales Tax = $48.26. And I will donate the proceeds of the sale(s) of these and all 6×6 inch gouache leaf paintings to support relief from the devastation from Hurricane Helene. If you love what you see and would like to snag one (or all three) of these paintings now, contact me.
Mark Your Calendars
More details about the studio sale and other participating artists will be coming soon! In the meantime, please mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, November 16th and 17th from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. It would be fantastic to see you in person at my sweet studio in downtown Raleigh.
How About You
What’s happening in your world, gentle reader? I would love to hear from you. Please share your insights in the comments here. Thank you.

October 17, 2024I love the leaf paintings. Funny thing though, I also have a BDE but now that it’s getting colder, I don’t love those morning walks so much.

October 17, 2024Hi Eileen,
TY! It sure is getting cooler around here.
I guess even tho’ BDE here is pushing 10 years, the cooler air puts more pep in her step. And, that faster pace helps keep me warm. Not yours, eh? Sending warm and fuzzies to you and your four-legged! xoxo

October 21, 2024Love these leaves, Julie! Each one, as you say, so similar and yet so different. They’d make a great triptych, right?
