What the heck is a little orbiting companion? I can’t wait to share with you! But first, let me share the purpose of this post and place. Whether it’s your first or gazillionth visit here, I hope you feel a warm (and bright colored) welcome. Each week I share a colorful painting with you. My hope is that these color clad, affordable paintings will delight your eyes and – hopefully – lift your spirits! The Satellite Challenge

Recently, a gallery owner asked me if I would like to have a painting in an upcoming exhibit. The owner asked to keep it small and to have it reference a satellite somehow. Why? Well, because that’s the name of the gallery.

This was a super fun project involving sketches of satellites. And I loved reading about satellite metaphors. When I read “A small object that orbits a larger object” I immediately thought of BDE (you know, best dog ever ;-D). Here’s the final result; it’s 3×3 inches painted in gouache and framed.

    Chloe looks thrilled to have those orbiting treats! I love this creative response to the idea of a satellite painting! I’m rather confident Chloe will be the only representative canine at this show and will bring laughter and smiles to the occasion! WIsh I could be there.

      Chloe is thrilled (and always gets) teenie tiny orbiting treats! Believe it or not, I have seen other pet pics so I don’t think she’ll be the only one in the show. Wishing you could be here too! xoox

    Wow, I so love BDE portrait. Speaking of satellites, my 11 pound chihuahua mix, Star Baby (oh my, ‘star’ !!!) is like the rings and I am Saturn. She adores running in circles and often around me. Please do send me your card. XO
