6 things you need to know about browsers, business and your mom

Your mom is the first face you probably saw when you came into this world. Guess what? Your browser is the first thing you see when you power up your computer.

And, just to make sure we’re all talking about the same thing, let’s define what your browser is and what your browser is not. Your browser is a software application that lives on your computer. Browsers you may use include Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari. Your browser is not a Search Engine.

Search Engines are websites used to search the Internet. Examples of Search Engines include: Google, Yahoo, Bing and Youtube (yes, Youtube is a preferred Search Engine for many, many people).

Even though you’re a grownup, knowledgeable and independent business person/artist/non-profit/small business owner these days, your mom probably still likes to be informed and up-to-date about your world. Funny thing is, your browser really likes to be up-to-date too for many of the same reasons that your mom will tell you to keep her current and in the know.

What happens if you keep your mom up to date? The same thing that happens if you keep your browser up-to-date.

If you’re checking in with mom every now and then, chances are pretty good that you’re safe and sound. Your mom is happy if she knows this about you.
